Summer Days

Well, where do I start this summer?

I have spent most of my week days in July delivering a government contract called the National Citizenship Service (NCS) for Personal Best Education.

The workshops that we have delivered are centred around DJ & Event Production but incorporate lots of other key skills that the young people can use in their lifetime. The workshops are fun, interactive and give these Year 11 students a taste of managing sound, lighting along with being creative behind the decks. We have seen over 1500 students from Hampshire based schools this summer and the participation and engagement level has been exceptional considering these guys have just finished their G.C.S.E exams.

Every week to celebrate the students time on the programme, I would provide a lively party night which gave all the students and leaders the chance to show their best dance moves. These party nights took place at Marwell Activity Centre and Tile Barn Outdoor Centre twice a week and were in very different settings. Marwell was set in a large barn so had a club feel to the evening and Tile Barn was playing out of a marquee so more of a festival vibe for the students.

Overall, it’s been a great year so far and seeing some of the students grow in confidence and improve their self-esteem in such a short space of time has been one of the biggest highlights for sure.

If you work at a school, college, youth club or you are a corporate based team looking for a team building day with a difference please get in contact to discuss building a tailored programme or workshop to suit your staff or student needs.

Enjoy the sunshine!
